This policy explains how Canine UK handles personal information when you visit this website, contact us, ask about training or join one of our mailing lists.
Information we collect
When you make an enquiry, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, location and information about your dog. You choose what to include. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive personal information. If you join an Academy mailing list, we collect your email address and record when you gave consent.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and recommend an appropriate training route.
- To arrange assessments, training or follow-up support you request.
- To send Academy launch news and related updates when you have asked to join that mailing list.
- To keep necessary business, safety and communication records.
- To protect the website and understand whether it is working correctly.
Website analytics
If you choose to accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage and improve the visitor journey. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our website configuration. You can reject analytics or change your choice using the website's Cookie choices control. Google explains how it uses information from sites using its services in its partner sites information.
Website enquiries, applications, WhatsApp and email
Website enquiries and Join Canine UK applications are securely recorded in the Canine UK Operations & Training System so that our team can assess and respond to them. For a website enquiry, we send an automatic alert to the Canine UK team with a secure link to Operations. The alert does not include your contact details or information about your dog. Join Canine UK applications still open an email draft on your device with a reference only, which you must send yourself. Your email provider also processes that email under its own privacy terms.
Academy mailing list
We use the email address you submit to send Canine UK The Academy updates. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe option in an email or contacting ask@canineuk.com. We will stop marketing messages and remove or suppress your address as appropriate.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information. We only share it where needed to provide a requested service, operate the website, meet a legal obligation or protect people and animals. We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for those purposes.
Google Calendar
When an authorised Canine UK account holder connects the company Google account, Canine UK Operations uses its email address to confirm the account owner and creates a private company calendar. The app creates, updates and removes booking events containing the dog’s name, service, assigned trainer, appointment dates and times, and a booking reference. Client contact details, addresses, payment details and access notes are not copied to this company calendar.
Connection tokens are stored encrypted in the Operations database. We do not store your Google password. Calendar visibility is controlled through its Google sharing settings.
The account owner can remove the app’s access through Google Account settings, stopping further synchronisation. Contact ask@canineuk.com to request removal of saved connection credentials. Removing access does not automatically delete existing Google Calendar events.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your personal information. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
